Midwife at your service...

We midwives are a hardy bunch. Dependable, adaptable, unflappable.
We’re as likely to leave a shift with blood-streaked hair because the cord snapped (not dangerous, just messy) as clutching a tin of thank you biscuits.
After 30 years in the profession, I have my eye on my ‘place in the sun’, happily ticking off the years 'til retirement. I enjoy my role at the local cottage hospital. I feel blessed and fortunate to have this job. I am experienced, knowledgeable and skilled. I am good at what I do. I care.
But a fluttering of news from a far off land signals the coming of a seismic rupture. All the training and education I ever had never prepared me for this.
The word on everyones’ lips
PANDEMIC
